The Irving and Aaronel deRoy Gruber Foundation was created on November 2, 2000

Primary Mission

The mission of the Foundation is to support and promote the artwork of Aaronel deRoy Gruber. The Foundation may accept any of Aaronel’s works of art, including, but not limited to, paintings, sculptures, photographs, negatives, contact sheets, editions, reprints and digital files. The Foundation shall also support and promote locally and nationally known artists, but focus on those artists originally from or living in Western Pennsylvania who have chosen photography as their primary medium. The Trustees may accept photographic works of art from these artists.

Secondary Mission

The Foundation recognizes that other forms of art are valuable and that the role of the trustees will be to use their discretion to evaluate other forms of art worthy of promotion and support by the Foundation including with a primary focus on, but not being limited to, local artists who are engaged in painting and sculpturing. To the extent the resources of the Foundation permit it, the Trustees are encouraged to promote artistic photography in the western Pennsylvania geographic region with the ultimate goal of establishing and/or supporting galleries and museums for the display of such artistic photographic works in the region.
