DELAYED (ORIGINALLY JANUARY 13 - APRIL 10, 2021)

Aaronel deRoy Gruber's early Plexiglas and Lucite sculptures and original exhibition catalogues will be included in Plastic Heart: Surface All The Way Through held at the Art Museum at the University of Toronto and  curated  by the Toronto-based Synthetic Collective, an interdisciplinary collaboration between visual artists, cultural workers and scientists.  The exhibition, opening January 13, 2021 – April 10, 2021, includes new commissions, historical and contemporary artworks that relate to plastic as a politically-loaded material, and investigations into the paradoxes of plastic conservation in museum collections.  In addition to those of DeRoy Gruber, plastic-based works by Claes Oldenburg,  Les Levine and others are included.
